Toure salutes exciting Iheanacho
The reigning African player of the year has hailed the impact of young Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho at the Manchester-based club.
Yaya Toure, who featured for Manchester City for the first time since the World Cup in the friendly games against Liverpool, has described 17-year-old Iheanacho as an ‘exciting player’ who has a bright future with the club.
“Kelechi is an exciting player,” Toure told Manchester City’s official website.
“I love the way he plays and I feel that he will have a good career at the club and go on to become one of the players of the future,”
The young Nigerian forward has been one of the stand-out performers for City in their pre-season engagements. He has scored 2 goals in as many games, and was the only City player to convert his spot-kick in the defeat against the Reds in their last game.
