The public falling-out between Moroccan Adel Taarabt and manager Harry Redknapp at QPR is getting messier by the day.

Taarabt felt compelled to reply criticism of his weight from the 72-year-old coach, who said the attacking midfielder was three stone overweight.

Taarabt was photographed defiantly lifting up his shirt while speaking with the Daily Mail, showing himself to be in top condition. Redknapp has however laughed this off, telling The Sun that even he could look trim if he only had to “suck my stomach in for a picture.”

The former Tottenham  Hotspur manager stood by his criticism of Taarabt, alleging that his recent weight loss was due to him catching tonsillitis. Redknapp struck another blow in the ongoing feud, saying, “He is the worst professional I have ever come across and I have been his only ally at QPR for the past three years.

“He doesn’t try and I have protected him for too long,” chided the QPR boss.
