Liverpool have announced the departure of Morocco winger Oussama Assaidi.

The 26-year-old will join Emirati club Al-Ahli Dubai FC in a £4.7 million move.

Assaidi moved to Merseyside in 2012 from Dutch Eredivisie side Heerenveen, but has struggled to make an impact at Anfield, only managing 12 appearances in the intervening period.

He spent last season on loan at fellow Premier League side Stoke City, for whom he briefly flickered, famously hitting a stoppage-time screamer to consign Chelsea to defeat at the Britannia Stadium.

His second loan-spell with the Potters this season has been rather less productive though, as he has struggled for playing time and is behind the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Victor Moses in the pecking order. He was recalled early by Liverpool in order to finalise the move to the Gulf League.
