Nwofor leaves Venlo, heading to Belgium
Nigeria international Uche Nwofor has been released from his contract with Dutch club VVV-Venlo and has revealed that he is heading to the Jupiler League.
While most of the major transfer business was done before the window slammed shut, a few deals are still to be completed, with clubs permitted to recruit free agents.
Nigeria international Uche Nwofor is one such player. Dutch side VVV-Venlo revealed on their official website that they had released the striker, and, in an interview with SuperSport, the Super Eagle has spoken of his intentions.
“I’ve been at VVV-Venlo for some years now and I believe it is now time for me to move ahead in order to progress my career,” he began.
“I have targets and goals that I’ll like to achieve and I’m glad Venlo cooperated with my management team in order to make things possible. I have enjoyed playing in Venlo and I’m thankful to the club for everything.
“After the match for Nigeria, I’ll be heading to Belgium to join my new club.
“For now Belgium is my next destination.”
Nwofor, who was part of the Super Eagles side that contested the World Cup in Brazil, is currently with the national side ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
