Not everyone’s convinced, but Salomon Kalou has done well to add greater maturity and consistency to his game at LOSC Lille.
It’s testament to his improvement in France that Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have had reported interest in the former Chelsea forward.
The Ivorian scored 16 goals in 36 starts for the Northern club and also contributed six assists.
Most importantly, perhaps, his goals often came in tight games—Lille picked up points against the likes of Bastia (twice), Bordeaux, Valenciennes, Toulouse, Guingamp, Ajaccio, Rennes, Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Etienne directly because of Kalou contributions.
Ultimately, there was a tangible result to his efforts—the club managed to achieve Champions League qualification.
