Moses: I am still a Chelsea player
Nigeria international Victor Moses insists he is still a Chelsea player and is in no hurry to commit his future to Stoke City.
Having joined Mark Hughes’s side on a season-long loan from Chelsea, the Nigeria forward is currently on a purple patch of form after enduring a nightmarish episode with Liverpool last season.
However, he has said he is not in a hurry to make his loan move with the Potters permanent as he still belongs to Jose Mourinho’s Blues.
“I’m still a Chelsea player. I am here to help Stoke as a club to make sure they are in the right position in the Premier League,” Moses told the Stoke Sentinel.
“And I will keep working hard and trying to help the team as long as I am here.
Moses then went on to clear the air over his alleged dive, which resulted in a penalty against Swansea City.
“If you look at the picture, there was contact. To be honest, he (Monk) shouldn’t have said that. That’s the mistake he made.
“It was a clear penalty. My conscience is clear, I got a penalty and now we move on.
“That really meant a lot to me, everyone supporting me. The chairman in the paper, everyone was behind me and I was very pleased with that.”
The forward has been overlooked by Nigeria boss Stephen Keshi, who cited injury concerns for the snub, for the upcoming Nations Cup qualifiers against the Republic of Congo and South Africa.
