Mikel set to leave Stamford Bridge
Nigeria international John Obi Mikel is set to end a nine-year spell with Chelsea, as the Blues look to sell the midfielder in January.
The 28-year-old has had a successful career with Chelsea, but has become surplus to requirements under manager Jose Mourinho in recent months.
Real Madrid were understood to be interested in the Nigerian back in April, but it is now thought that Besiktas will be his likely destination according to The Daily Express.
Chelsea’s form this season has been the opposite of their title-winning form from last campaign, with the midfielder coming under particular scrutiny.
Mikel has become second choice to likes of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, with the Blues ready to cash in on one of their longest-serving players.
Besiktas have admitted they made a bid for the player in the summer and are likely to come back in January as Chelsea look set to part ways.
