Liverpool reignite interest in Aubameyang
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Anfield and will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for his services.
The 26-year-old is quickly becoming one of world football’s hottest attacking talents, having scored 17 goals in 13 appearances for Dortmund, and the Reds are ready to enquire what fee it would take to tempt the Gabon international from the Westfalenstadion.
PSG are also in the hunt for Aubameyang, who has backed up his fine goalscoring form from last season with a more impressive goals per game ratio this campaign.
Klopp had said he did not intend on raiding his former club for players, with the likes of Marco Reus also linked with the Reds. However, The Mirror understands Klopp is keen to sign Aubameyang to strengthen his attacking options, with Daniel Sturridge still on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, PSG have been admiring the Gabon international for some time, when the striker was at Saint Etienne.
Aubameyang broke a Bundesliga record by scoring in eight consecutive league games, failing to convert at home to Krasnodar in the Europa League and away to Mainz in the Bundesliga.
The striker has twice saved his side from defeat this season with vital goals, while scoring all three in a 3-1 Europa League victory at Qabala, recently.
