Kofi rues early Champions League exit
Ghana and Malmo midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi has lamented his side’s early exit from the Champions League.
Malmo came into this year’s Champion League tournament as Swedish champions, however, their exit from the elite competition was confirmed on Tuesday night as they were beaten 4-2 by Greek side Olympiakos.
Kofi, who was sent of in the game, has been left disappointed by their inability to progress in the competition but declared they will bounce back next season, after they must have retained their league title.
“It’s always sad when you lose such important games but is football therefore you have to keep on going,” he said via Ghanasoccernet.com.
“We wanted to go far in the competition but all the same we couldn’t make it, in football we just have to keep on working.
“It’s unfortunate we are out of the Champions League so we are going to concentrate on our league next season to win the league.”
