Eto’o eyes Roma move
Chelsea and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o wants a transfer to Roma as long as they can meet his wage demands.
The 33-year-old’s one-year deal at Stamford Bridge has come to an end and he will seek a move away from the London club.
Eto’o’s relationship with Jose Mourinho turned sour over the course of the year, and with Diego Costa set to sign from Atletico Madrid the Cameroonian’s services are no longer required.
Arsenal and Everton are also reportedly after the striker according to the Daily Express, but it’s believed Eto’o would prefer a move to Roma as long as they can meet his £60,000-a-week wage demands.
The striker is reported to want a two-year deal which would earn him around £3 million a season. Questions could be raised whether Eto’o is worth the wage demands, having finished as Chelsea’s tenth top scorer, with out-of-form Fernando Torres also above him in the goal-scoring charts.
