Ethiopia terminate Barreto contract
The Ethiopian Football Federation has announced the termination of coach Mariano Barreto’s contract in an official statement.
Barreto, a Portuguese national, was appointed head coach of the Ethiopian national team last year on a two-year deal.
The Walia Antelopes endured a disappointing qualifying series for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations under Barreto’s reign finishing bottom of their group.
Local reports has claimed deep division between Barreto and the Ethiopian Football Federation’s technical department as part of the reason for an early termination.
