EPL duo to battle it out for Konate
Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal are set to battle it out for £10 million-rated Sion winger Moussa Konate.
The London rivals, who faced each other in a heated Premier League fixture this weekend, will also have to fight off competition from fellow English sides Tottenham, West Ham and Everton.
Konate has scored 21 goals in 34 starts for the Swiss Super League club, which has caused some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs to sit up and take notice.
However, his agent, Antoine Issa Kossoko has been quick to inform English sides that he would also consider a move to elsewhere in Europe, including the Bundesliga.
“Lots of English clubs are interested in Moussa –Chelsea and Arsenal scouts are keeping an eye on him – but he is not obsessed with the Premier League and will consider good offers from Germany, Spain or England.” Kossoko told The Mirror.
“Hannover, Mainz and Bruges were keen on him this summer, offering up to £6m. But Sion said they would not sell for less than £10m.”
Konate scored five times at the London 2012 Olympics and could potentially make a move to the Olympic stadium if West Ham decide to pursue their interest, as they move into their new stadium next season.
The Senegal international has previously played for Krasnoda in Russia and spent time on loan at Genoa during the 2013/14 season.
