Enyeama pulls out of Nigeria squad
Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has pulled out of the Super Eagle’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Tanzania this Saturday.
The 33-year-old will not take part in the qualifier this weekend, after after his mother passed away, with coach Sunday Oliseh granting him compassionate leave.
A source close to the family told BBC Sport: “He is completely devastated and coach Sunday Oliseh has excused him on compassionate grounds,”
Uncapped Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is set to take his place in the starting line-up.
Enyeama featured in goal for Nigeria during their opening AFCON qualifier against Chad, but will miss the weekend’s fixture as the Super Eagles look to qualify for the 2017 edition of the tournament, after failing to qualify for this year’s competition.
The Lille goalkeeper is Nigeria’s most capped player with 101 appearances.
