Nigerian Sheyi Ojo has signed a five-year contract extension with Liverpool, before heading on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers this season.

Ojo, 18, signed from MK Dons back in 2011, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club and recently scored in Liverpool’s 2-1 pre-season friendly victory at Swindon Town.

The winger has signed a youth loan deal with the Championship side in order to gain valuable first-team experience, after making 11 appearances for Wigan Athletic last season.

Ojo has come close to Premier League action, when named on the bench against Leicester City and Burnley last season.

Wolves have been needing a new winger following the departure of Mali international Bakary Sako in the summer, after his contract expired. So the England Under-18 should expect plenty of game time at Molineux, on his first full season out on loan.
