Zimbabwean defender Brendan Galloway has sealed a big move to the Premier League, swapping Milton Keynes Dons for Everton.

The centre-back has emerged as one of the football league’s highest-rated players in the lower leagues of the last 12 months and has been rewarded with a move to the top flight.

The 18-year-old has been rewarded for his excellent form with a move to Goodison Park.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the centre-back has been likened to Rio Ferdinand and has featured for England’s youth sides. After completing his move, he is now on his way to join up with the Three Lions’ U-21 side.

The defender was raised in Harare, Zimbabwe before emigrating to England with his family. Upon arriving at the Toffees, he has spoken about his excitement at getting stuck in with the Blues.

As noted by Everton’s Official Website, “I’m now looking forward to learning off some of the more senior players – the likes of Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka.

“Long-term, I also want to get in the Everton team and play week in and week out in the Premier League and play in a team that’s doing well, which I know we will do.”
