DONE DEAL: Adeyemi joins Cardiff City

Cardiff City have completed the signing of Tom Adeyemi from Birmingham City in time for their Championship opener at Blackburn on Friday.

The BBC have reported that the 22-year-old former Norwich City midfielder has signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee for the Bluebirds.

Adeyemi is a direct replacement for Jordan Mutch, who has completed his £6m transfer to QPR. Birmingham had originally rejected a formal transfer request by Adeyemi for the Cardiff move. Adeyemi had scored three goals for Birmingham in 40 games since being signed from Norwich City in 2013.

Norwich-born Tom, who turned down an opportunity attend Cambridge University in order to become a professional football player in 2010, is the son of Elijah, who comes from Nigeria, and Toni, who run healthcare companies in East Anglia, United Kingdom.

The midfielder, who is eligible to play for either Nigeria or England, is yet to feature for either side at any level.
