Premier League pair Marouane Chamakh and Oussama Assaidi have returned to the Morocco side after extended absences.

Crystal Palace’s Chamakh hasn’t featured for Morocco since August 2012 when he appeared for the Atlas Lions against Guinea. Stoke’s Assaidi, who is on loan from Liverpool, has faced a similar spell on the sidelines as Badou Ezzaki has assessed other options. According to Ahram Online, both players will feature for the regional giants in their upcoming friendlies.

Both sides have been in action in the EPL so far this season but, despite impressing on occasion, haven’t been able to produce a consistent run of good form.

Perhaps the North Africans’ upcoming matches against Benin and Zimbabwe will give them the opportunity to shine. Morocco meet the Squirrels in Aghadir on November 13, before facing the Warriors three days later.

Both players will hope to make the national team for the 2015 Cup of Nations, particularly if it takes place in their home country.
