Bony scores as Arsenal slip up

Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony scored as Swansea drew 2-2 with Arsenal.

Swansea and Arsenal played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium as Arsene Wenger’s side missed the chance to make amends following their disappointing weekend defeat to Chelsea.

Wilfried Bony opened the scoring with an eleventh minute header, before two goals in two minutes, via Lukas Podolski and Oliver Giroud, gave Arsenal the lead.

The Gunners were unable to hold onto their advantage, however, and a 90th minute own goal by Mathieu Flamini left the home fans deflated. Their team now sit six points off leaders Chelsea.

After a slow start to life in the Premier League, Bony has stepped up a gear in 2014. He has scored against Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, and also found the net in the 3-0 victory over Welsh rivals Cardiff City.

Bony will likely be heading to Brazil this summer as part of the Cote d’Ivoire’s World Cup squad.
