Bentaleb faces spell on the sidelines
Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is struggling with injury, and has been left out of Algeria’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 19-year-old is nursing an ankle injury, and could face a couple of weeks out.
Algeria are scheduled to face Ethiopia and Mali on the 15th and 19th of November. The Fennecs have already secured qualification for next year’s continental showpiece, so it is expected that boss Christian Gourcuff will give a chance to youngsters to prove their worth.
Bentaleb has impressed for Algeria all through the qualifiers, and was a pivotal part of their record-breaking World Cup performance in Brazil over the summer.
He is expected to miss Spurs’ clash against Asteras Tripoli in the Europa League on Thursday.
