Barca target January move for Mahrez
Barcelona are targeting a January move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, following the season-ending injury to Rafinha.
The Catalan giants are reportedly prepared to make a move for the player according Mundo Deportivo, having become short in options following the sale of Pedro to Chelsea.
Robert Fernandez, technical director at Barcelona, has added the 24-year-old to his shortlist of January targets, when the club’s transfer ban is lifted on January 4.
Mahrez has been the Foxes’ star man this season, scoring five league goals and getting three assists, which now sees Leicester sitting pretty in fourth.
The Algeria international cost just £500,000 from Le Havre in January 2014, but is now on the radar of one of the world’s biggest clubs, alongside Valencia and fellow Algeria international Sofiane Feghouli.
However, Mahrez still has four years left on his contract and is understood to be happy at the King Power stadium.
