Ayew admits Premier League interest
Andre Ayew has admitted he is interested in a move to the Premier League, after a switch to Queens Park Rangers fell through in January.
The Ghana international has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe, as a move away from the Stade Velodrome is looking increasingly likely.
“It is true there were talks (with QPR),” Ayew admitted. “But at the time it was not the right move for me and Marseille, which is important too.”
However, the 25-year-old winger has opened himself up for a move to Anfield, after admitting he is a fan of the Reds.
“All my life I have been a Liverpool fan,” he told Sky Sports. “When I was young I was watching the Liverpool games.”
Ayew will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future, but a move across the channel looks most likely.
“I have had a lot of different offers from different countries, but I will have to discuss with Marseille,” Ayew added.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world today, and it would be an honour play there.”
The Ghanaian also admitted Cameroonian duo Samuel Eto’o and Alex Song spoke highly of the league.
“I talk to a lot with my friends who have played there. Samuel Eto’o, Alex Song, Samir Nasri, Joey Barton have all given me great advice about the Premier League.”
