Augsburg head coach Markus Weinzierl has confirmed that Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare is unfit for Saturday’s clash against Bayern Munich.

Opare is yet to feature for the Bundesliga side following his arrival in the summer transfer window from Portuguese champions Porto.

Opare, 24, picked up the muscle injury in training and rehabilitation has taken longer than initially anticipated, and is now believed to have fallen behind schedule.

“His muscle injury is a little complicated than expected at the beginning and you still need patience.” said Augsburg coach Weinzierl.

The Ghanaian was signed as a replacement for his countryman Baba Rahman who joined Chelsea in August.

Opare has turned out for Real Madrid Castilla, Standard Liege and spent the second half of last season on-loan at Besiktas prior to his arrival in Germany.
