Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah returned to training with Juventus on Sunday after recovering from the knee injury which kept him out for over five months.

Asamoah sustained the knee injury whilst in Serie A action for the Old Lady which required surgery ruling him out of Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations squad earlier this year.

It was announced after the successful surgery in Barcelona that Asamoah would be out for a period of three months but rehabilitation hasn’t been smooth.

The Ghanaian has been out of action since November and Juventus have clinched the Serie A title, made the Coppa Italia final and have one foot in the Champions League final in his absence.

Asamoah will be hoping to get some match action before the season ends which will be a welcome boost for Ghana coach Avram Grant with the June internationals in mind.

Juventus face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the semi-final 2nd-leg of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. As Asamoah was left out of the list submitted to UEFA for the knock-out stage, he will be not be eligible for selection by the Bianconeri.
