Egyptian giants Al Ahly have swooped for striker Peter Ebimobowei.

The forward joins the ranks of the CAF Confederation Cup champions from Nigeria Premier League side Bayelsa United.

Ebimobowei was the third highest scorer in the Glo NPFL last term with 18 goals in a Bayelsa United side that barely escaped relegation, finishing a single point above the relegation places.

It appeared he was on his way to join fellow NPFL side Dolphins, who will play in the 2015 Confederation Cup, but Ahly have won the race for his signature. A fee of $210,000 was paid for the 22-year-old, according to Ahram Sports.

It is expected that Ebimobowei will be a part of Ahly’s squad for their CAF Champions League campaign this year.
