Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed the club will sign forward Larsen Traore following his trail with the club.

The 31-year-old featured in a number of friendlies for the Tractor Boys during pre-season and has impressed the club enough to earn a deal with the East Anglians.

McCarthy admitted they knew little about the player before Mauritius international Kevin Bru recommended the player to the club.

“Larsen Touré we knew very little about except that Kevin Bru told us he was available. We looked him up on our scouting system, and what we saw of him impressed us.” McCarthy admitted.

Toure has previously played for Lille in France, as well as Levski Sofia in Bulgaria, boasting plenty of experience.

McCarthy told the club’s official website: “Larsen impressed me as soon as he walked through the door and trained with us. He’s definitely got something and I’m delighted to get both of them on board.”

Ipswich head to Brentford on the opening day of the Championship campaign on Saturday.
