AFSTZ: Leicester set to sign Benalouane
Leicester City are set to complete the signing of Yohan Benalouane from Atalanta, after having an €8 million bid accepted.
The French-born Tunisian admitted he did not wish to leave the Serie A side, but believed the move was financially too good for the club to turn down.
“I couldn’t say anything before everything was over,” Benalouane told the Bergamo Post.
“I left the training camp in tears on Friday, because I really care for everyone. I didn’t want to leave Atalanta and would gladly have stayed, but an offer of €8m is a lot for a club like Atalanta.”
The 28-year-old made 27 appearances for the club last season in Serie A, but also picked up 12 yellow cards.
He will join Claudio Ranieri’s side in just enough time before the Premier League season kicks off on Saturday.
