Premier League Champions Chelsea are set to sign to sign FC Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji for £4 million.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho has had to resign himself to the fact that Everton are refusing to sell John Stones, and will therefore move for the Bournemouth target.

The Senegal international is due to have a medical soon, in order for the move to go through before deadline day on Tuesday.

Djilobodji has made 160 appearances for the Ligue 1 club since joining in 2010, and is entering the final year of his contract.

Chelsea have conceded nine goals in four league games, which is the Blues’ biggest concern, as they sit eight points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Victor Moses is set to sign a new deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit, before heading across London for a loan spell with West Ham.
