AFS TOTW: N’Doye, Ayew & Accam star

It has been another fine seven days for African players, and competition was intense for the return of the AFS TOTW as the season reaches its climax in major leagues.

AFS TOTW regular this season Carlos Kameni is back in the team this week. Despite conceding a goal at Deportivo on Sunday, the Cameroonian was in great for as Malaga held on for a point.

Missing from the AFS TOTW for a while, Ivorian Serge Aurier returns at right-back after helping his PSG side in the 6-1 demolition of Lille. He is joined at the back by Lyon’s Burkina Faso centre-back Bakary Kone. Kone played a key role in Lyon’s 4-2 away victory at Reims. Tunisian hardman Aymen Abdennour slots in at the back after keeping a clean sheet in Monaco’s 3-0 win at Lens. The back-line is completed by Algerian Faouzi Ghoulam who helped Napoli to a 4-2 win over Sampdoria at the San Poalo.

20th-27th-April 2015

St. Etienne winger Max Gradel makes a return to the AFS TOTW in a midfield packed with debutants. He scored the match winner as the Greens overcame Montpellier in Ligue 1. The Ghanaian pair Enoch Adu and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu of Malmo and Udinese respectively occupy the centre of midfield this week. Both were goalscorers over the weekend with Adu’s goal securing a vital draw and Agyemang Badu’s in Udinese’s victory over AC Milan. David Accam whose brilliant goal was the match winner for Chicago Fire completes the AFS TOTW midfield.

Jordan Ayew and Senegalese forward Dame N’Doye were in the frame for AFS Star Man this week following braces from both men over the weekend. Jordan Ayew was Marseille’s tormentor as he led Lorient to and impressive win whilst Dame N’Doye led Hull City to a vital win over Crystal Palace.
