Adomah: Boro will pose a threat

Ghana international Albert Adomah has seen enough of Boro’s forward players this summer to be convinced they can fire the side to success in the top flight this season.

And he also believes Boro’s second half demolition of Aston Villa at the weekend proved just how much of a threat Aitor Karanka’s side can be when playing on the counter attack.

With teams less likely to sit back and soak up constant pressure against Boro than they were in the Championship – when it was the norm – Adomah thinks the pace and quality on offer in the final third of the pitch will ensure they can pick opponents off on the break.

“I don’t know how teams will play against us in the Premier League because I haven’t played at that level before but the way we played at Villa showed that we can play on the counter attack and obviously play behind the ball,” he said.

“It worked for us at Aston Villa because they came out of the blocks playing well and then eventually tired out.

“But we showed that we have that weapon in our locker so if we can use it it can benefit us.”
