Morocco defender Mehdi Benatia scored in Juventus International Champions Cup win over Tottenham in Melbourne.

Benatia proved he could be a key member of the Old Ladies squad this season following a splendid display in the heart of Juventus’ backline.

The Italian champions capitalized on a shaky first half performance from Premier League side to score to secure victory in the friendly encounter.

Paulo Dybala and Mehdi Benatia fired the Serie A champions into a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes before a rejuvenated Spurs side scored a consolation goal through Erik Lamela.

An unmarked Benatia headed past Vorm to register his first Juve goal. Benatia  has joined Juventus on loan from Bayern Munich.

Ghana’s Kwadwo Asamoah also lasted 66 minutes for Juventus.
