Anthony Ujah scored twice for Cologne as they beat Eintracht Braunschweig 4-0 in the DFB Pokdal Cup.

The Nigeria international got his competitive season off to a flying start by hitting a brace for his Bundesliga side.

Ujah, who missed a glorious chance to bag a hat-trick, was on target in the 46th and 52nd minute .

His miss, however, was sharply followed by Cologne’s third goal from Mathias Lehmann before Simon Zoller wrapped up the outstanding victory with a fourth for the Rams.

Cologne are now through to the next round of the German cup where they will know their opponents after tomorrow’s draw.

The Nigerian, who suffered a goal drought for Cologne last season, still managed to score 11 times in 34 games as Cologne secured promotion back to the Bundesliga.

With his side back in the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old will be hoping for a better outing compared to last season.
