Sunderland chase Mancienne
Former Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has emerged as a transfer target for Sunderland.
Having completed their unlikely escape from the grip of relegation, Sunderland have wasted little time in organising their resources in time for next season.
There has been a noticeable shake-up in defence, with Gus Poyet clearly keen to make amends for the side’s poor defensive showings last term.
Phil Bardsley has joined Stoke City, while Carlos Cuellar, Mobido Diakite and Valentin Roberge have all been released.
The Mirror have reported that Seychellois Michael Mancienne has been targeted by the Black Cats. Since leaving Chelsea, the defender has made a name for himself in the Bundesliga where he has become a mainstay at HSV Hamburg.
It may be that a move back to the Premier League is imminent however, with QPR, Swansea City and Stoke City also reported to be chasing his signature.
