The Spanish La Liga entered week 25 with a respectable number of Africans featuring for their teams. Manucho ended his goal drought while Carlos Kameni dominated headlines after heroics against Real Madrid.

Angola international Manucho hit the back of the net for the first time this term and it turned out to be crucial as Rayo Vallecano held Sevilla to a two all draw at Estadio del Rayo Vallecano (de Vallecas Teresa Rivero).
The striker, with 14 appearances in total, replaced the injured Nacho Martínez in the 35th minute and made an instant impact, cancelling Sevilla’s lead three minutes to the break.
Veteran goalkeeper Carlos Kameni was in sensational form, scooping home the Man of the match award, as Malaga halted Real Madrid’s winning streak. With the score at 1-0 in favour of Los Blancos, Kameni saved Ronaldo’s penalty to deny Madrid increasing their lead. Malaga buoyed by Kameni’s heroics pegged back and ensured the match ended in a 2-2 draw to the delight of the fans. Arthur Boka was unused by Malaga head coachJavi Gracia while Chelsea loanee and Ghana winger Christian Atsu was sidelined with injury.
Athletic Bilbao with Spanish born Ghanaian Iñaki Williams in their fold suffered a frustrating 0-1 defeat at home to Real Sociedad. The attacking midfielder left the field in the 37th minute.
Sofiane Feghouli had quite a decent game for Valencia who posted their third victory on the trot against Granada. Tunisia’s Aymen Abdennour, injured, didn’t travel with Valencia. Granada featured Nigerian youngster Isaac Success who received a booking, and Youssef El-Arabi.
Papa Diop‘s Espanyol came out tops with a 1-0 victory against Fayçal Fajr‘s Deportivo La Coruna. Both lasted the entire duration of the game.
Thirty-year old Algeria midfielder Carl Medjani made his first appearance alongside Simão Junior in Levante’s 3-0 drubbing of Getafe. Zouhair Feddal (Levante), Mehdi Lacen and Bernard Mensah (Getafe) played no part in the match.
Alfred N’diaye and Rachid Aït-Atmane played full throttle for Real Betis and Sporting Gijon respectively in a share of spoils, 1-1.
Nabil El Zhar starred yet could not help Las Palmas avoid defeat against table topper’s Barcelona. Suspended Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso watched game from the stands. His compatriot Thomas Teye Partey also played no role in Atletico Madrid’s goalless draw with Villarreal due injury.
