Opare: I have a lot to learn
Ghana defender Daniel Opare insists he still has a lot to learn as he receives praise for his recent performances for Besiktas.
The right-back is on loan for the rest of the season at the Turkish side after enduring a torrid time since his move from Standard Liege to Portuguese champions Porto.
The 2009 FIFA Under 20 World Cup winner was instrumental as a make-shift left-back as The Black Eagles eliminated Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Opare has received praise from the Turkish media for his display but insisted that he’s enjoying his time in Istanbul and still has a lot to learn.
“I am proud to be here. I am at the beginning of the road yet,” Opare told Ghana soccernet.
“I have a lot to learn, I’m trying to evolve. I am going to give everything for the team. I believe in this club. So far it’s going well and I’m happy with my performance.”
Opare scored on his first Turkish Super Lig start on Sunday for Besiktas against Didier Zakora’s Balıkesirspor.
Opare, 24, was part of the Ghana squad at the 2014 World Cup but failed to make the team as the Black Stars secured Silver in Equatorial Guinea.
