Sofiane Feghouli capped off a fine season with Valencia by starring for Algeria at the World Cup.
In La Liga, the playmaker scored three and contributed six assists while he also impressed in the Europa League, scoring three in seven starts for Los Che.
Before the World Cup, there had been concerns that Feghouli would struggle to inspire Algeria all on his own. However, supported by the likes of Saphir Taider and Nabil Bentaleb, and complimented by Yacine Brahimi, he was one of Africa’s star performers.
He was the only Fennecs player to play every single minute of the North Africans’ campaign—a sign of Vahid Halilhodzic’s faith in him—while his display in the 4-2 thrashing of South Korea was superb.
AC Milan have been interested, but the playmaker has insisted that he will remain at Valencia this season.
