Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was full of praise for Mohamed Salah following The Viola’s win over Tottenham in the Europa League on Thursday.

Egyptian Salah arrived in Florence as part of the deal which took Juan Cuadrado to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Salah has been in great form since arriving in Italy and capped off a great night in Europe for Montella’s side by grabbing the second in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham. German Mario Gomez got the first for The Viola but Motella reserved special praise for his new recruit Salah after they made it into the last-16 of the Europa League.

“Salah is a player that, even if he takes some breaks, is devastating over 40 or 50 yards,” Montella said.

“Who did better out of the Cuadrado exchange? Fiorentina earned a lot of money and, on the pitch, they are similar players.”

Salah will be hoping to continue his impressive form this weekend when Fiorentina take on a resurgent Inter Milan at the San Siro.
