Stoke city manager Mark Hughes has hailed the signing of Ramadan Sobhi from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The attacking midfielder is Premier League outfit first summer signing after completing move on Monday for a fee believed to be in a region of around £6m.

And Potters manager believes the capture of Sobhi will excite Stoke City supporters and players alike

“I feel it’s an exciting capture and he’s certainly an exciting young player,” the Welshman told stokecityfc.com.

“It may take him a while to understand the Premier League because it does for creative players, but he has good experience for somebody who is so young.

“There is a lot of interest in him in his home country as well and he’s had to deal with that for a couple of years so that shows he has maturity.

“He’ll need that because the Premier League is a difficult league, but I’ve spoken to him and spent time with him and he seems a very mature young man.”
