Hull’s Sagbo joins Wolves
Hull City striker Yannick Sagbo has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-month loan deal, after failing to find his place in the Tigers’ starting XI.
The arrival of £10 million record-signing Abel Hernandez and Nicika Jelavic has left the Ivory Coast international short of match time, whilst Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has claimed the Humberside club’s “different direction” has left Sagbo short of game time.
Sagbo, 26, is available for the club’s home tie with Huddersfield, whilst already competing in the Europa League and League Cup with Hull this season.
Jackett told BBC Sport: “We saw that game against West Brom last week. We were looking for someone who was ready to play now and Yannick is fit and ready.
“He made a good fist of the Premier League last year at Hull. Now they have gone in a different direction but he has a lot of power and ability and we believe he will link very well with our other forwards.”
Wolves returned to the Championship at the end of last season, after suffering back-to-back relegations from the Premier League to League One.
