Hertha closing in on Kalou
Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin may be set to complete the transfer of Salomon Kalou imminently after winning the race for the forward’s signature.
The forward looks to have come to the end of his time in France with LOSC Lille. Kalou himself has acknowledged that he is keen on a return to the Premier League, while the Dogs, after missing out on the Champions League group stage, would be keen to offload his hefty wages.
Initially, the forward was linked to heavyweight EPL sides such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but more recently, as reported by Africa Football Shop, Sunderland have been leading the chase for the 29-year-old.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that Bundesliga side have beaten the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg to the Ivorian’s signing. A fee of £3million has been mooted for the player, with Kalou set to head to Berlin on a three-year deal.
The former Feyenoord man featured for the Elephants at the World Cup, and will bring experience to Berlin. Kalou won the Champions League, the Premier League and three FA Cups while with Chelsea.
