Ghana’s Kingson back in football
Former Ghana number one Richard Kingson is back in football after signing a one-year deal with Ghana Premier League side Accra Great Olympics.
The former Wigan Athletic goalkeeper began his career with the Accra based side before moving to Galatasaray in 1996 and this completes a return to where he started.
“We have agreed terms with him and he should be eligible to play for us when we receive his International Transfer Certificate,” Olympics General Manager Olloboe Commodore told GHANASoccernet.
Kingson, 36, has been without a club since leaving Turkish second-tier side Balıkesirspor in 2014 after helping them win promotion to the Super Lig.
Before returning to Turkey, Kingson spent time at Cypriot First Division club Doxa Katokopias. His career has taken him to clubs such as Wigan, Blackpool and Birmingham City in the English Premier League. He also spent time at Turkish outifts Antalyaspor, Elazığspor, Ankaraspor and Hammarby in Sweden.
