Cameroonian left-back Cedric Evina has joined League One side Doncaster Rovers on a two-year deal.

Rovers are recruiting for life back in League One following their relegation and one-season stay in the Championship. Evina had been looking for a new club since his release from Championship side Charlton Athletic this summer.

22-year-old Evina tweeted “Delighted to have joined Doncaster rovers. Excited for the challenge ahead.” Following the completion of his move to the Keepmoat Stadium.

The young African is yet to represent his country, but spent his youth days in Arsenal’s academy. He reunites with former manager Paul Dickov who he spent time with during his brief spell with Oldham Athletic. Dickov will hope his experience of winning League One with Charlton in 2012 will help them towards an automatic return to the Championship.

Evina has made just 63 professional appearances so far in his career, with 35 of those coming during his time at Charlton and the rest over two spells at Oldham. Doncaster are keen investors in youth and the Cameroonian left-back will hope the move will be a step in the right direction.
