Chinedu Obasi secures Swedish move
Nigeria forward Chinedu Obasi has signed a short-term deal with Swedish topflight club AIK Stockholm after being released by German outfit Schalke 04.
The 30-year finally parted ways with Schalke after being deemed surplus to requirements, following a frustrating three years plauged by injuries where he made 25 appearances and scored barely three goals.
“It’s a great opportunity and also a great honour for me to be part of this fantastic club,” Obasi told AIK website.
Obasi has 18 caps with the Super Eagles having made his debut in 2005. He is the only Nigerian to have appeared in all Fifa World Cups [Under-17, Under-20 and Senior] as well as the Olympics.
