DONE DEAL: Ecuele Manga moves to Cardiff
Championship heavyweights Cardiff City have completed a deal to sign FC Lorient centre-back Bruno Ecuele Manga.
BBC Sport report that a fee of £5million has been agreed upon for the 26-year-old. The defender is currently in the Welsh capital to complete his medical ahead of transfer confirmation.
The Libreville-born centre-back moved to the club in 2010 when he left SCO Angers. He had previously featured for Girondins de Bordeaux—where he struggled to make a name for himself—and lower league side Rodez AF on loan.
Bleacher Report, among others, have previously linked Arsenal to the defender over the summer—a demonstration of the kind of reputation he enjoys within the world game.
Ecuele Manga currently has 41 caps for Gabon and, after Frederic Bulot’s move to Charlton Athletic, becomes the second Gabonese international to move to the Championship this weekend.
Following their relegation from the Premier League, the Bluebirds have already signed eight players this summer, including two Africans, South Africa international Kagisho Dikgacoi and Nigerian midfielder Tom Adeyemi.
