Kaizer Chiefs manager Stuart Baxter has criticised Zimbabwe forward Kingston Nkhatha after his dive against Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Chiefs managed to defeat Bloemfontein Celtic on Tuesday 1-0 following an 80th-minute goal from Mandle Masango.

The striker’s fourth goal in five games delighted coach Baxter, but the boss was unhappy with his other forward, Kingston Nkhatha.

The Zimbabwean found himself through on goal halfway through the first half, but opted to go to ground when challenged inside the area.

The dive was unconvincing and referee Thabo Nksoi had no hesitation in sanctioning Nkhatha.

“Very often people throw themselves (trying to earn a free-kick). I don’t like Kingston throwing himself … he’ll get fined for that,” Baxter said, as reported by the Zimbabwean news source Citizen.

“He’ll be fined for throwing himself because he should have got a yellow card.

“The referee has got to give him a yellow card. I’ll fine him and I’ll try and teach him, but the referee gives him a yellow card and that teaches him not to do it.”
