Atsu not satisfied with EPL chances
Ghana international Christian Atsu has stated he is not happy at the lack of Premier League games he is playing.
The 23-year-old, who made just five league appearances on loan at Everton last season, has said that he needs more EPL games to break into the Chelsea starting XI.
“Of course I’m not happy I’m not playing in the Premier League because I came here to play,” Atsu told BBC Sport.
“It’s my dream to play for Chelsea. But right now I have to focus on Bournemouth,
“If I don’t play here, there is no way I will get a chance at Chelsea.”
Atsu joined the Blues from Porto back in September 2013, but was subsequently sent out on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
But after what looked a promising opportunity for the young Black Stars international, he was set back by an injury during pre-season which has limited his game time.
“I was very happy to play in that game and to make my return from injury,” Atsu said, after featuring for the Cherries in their Capital One Cup success over Hartlepool back in August.
“With my fitness I am getting better and right now I am ready to play many games.”
Atsu could be selected by boss Eddie Howe in the same competition he made his debut for the club, when Bournemouth head to Preston in the League Cup.
