Assombalonga continues goal-scoring form

Congolese forward Britt Assombalonga continued his excellent start to the new season with a goal in Nottingham Forest’s demolition of Reading.

Forest, under new manager Stuart Pearce, are enjoying a terrific beginning to the new campaign and their new striker, Britt Assombalonga, has been central to their success.

The Congolese hitman has needed no time to adapt to life in the second tier (after moving from League One Peterborough United) and is thriving at the East Midlands.

He bagged the final goal of the game as Forest thrashed Reading 4-0 at the City Ground.

Michail Antonio (twice) and Matty Fryatt had previously given the two-time European Cup winners an unassailable lead.

Former Watford man Assombalonga has now scored four goals in his last three Championship matches.

Seychellois defender Michael Mancienne played the whole match for Forest,
