Arsenal tracking Benatia
Premier League side Arsenal have entered into talks in an attempt to sign Bayern Munich and Morocco’s Medhi Benatia this transfer window according to Foot Mercato journalist Manu Lonjon.
The Daily Star, citing reports in France, say the Gunners are keen on signing the Morocco centre-back, who has struggled for game time at Bayern since his big money move from Roma two years ago.
Carlo Ancelotti already wanted to sign the player at PSG, but Benatia is very interested in the prospect of joining Arsenal and experiencing the English Premier League.
According to reports in France, talks are not at an advanced stage, but they have nevertheless begun.
RMC are reporting this week that Arsenal will make an official offer for Medhi Benatia next week.
Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in the services of the talented North African.
The 29-year old central defender joined the Bundesliga champions for €26m from AS Roma in 2014. Benatia began his career at French giants Marseille before turning out for Clermont and Udinese.
