Arsenal want late Bony deal
After reportedly missing out on Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, Arsenal have turned their attentions to Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony.
The Gunners are keen to recruit another forward with first-choice Olivier Giroud out till the New Year, and the paucity of available options within the squad will force Arsene Wenger to make a purchase.
The Express are reporting Arsenal may be willing to meet Bony’s release clause, which stands at £19 million. The timing of the move and the apparent need may however convince Swansea City to hold out for a higher fee right until the very end of transfer deadline day.
Bony has attracted interest from various clubs this summer, most notably Liverpool and Everton. His imposing physique, allied to his considerable ability on the ball, would make him an ideal fit for Arsenal.
