AFS3: Kwadwo Asamoah, Ghana & Juventus

Published On 16/08/2014 | By AFS Staff | Africa, Ghana

Kwadwo Asamoah was a pretty steady presence in the upper echelons of the AFS20 last season.

The Ghana international has been-once again-incredibly consistent for Juventus and simply exudes quality.

He brings energy and poise to the left wing-back berth, but his attacking and creative contribution cannot be denied—just witness his superlative goal against rivals Fiorentina.

Unfortunately, comment on Asamoah these days invariably develops into reservations about how he is being used.

At the World Cup, for example, Ghana looked at their most consistent when Kojo was on the ball. However, operating from left-back, this is an occasional reality. Unless he is moved back to the centre, the former Udinese man cannot be the great influencer that many of us are waiting for.
