10. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

AFS10: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gabon & Borussia Dortmund

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang faded towards the end of his first season in Germany, and subsequently slipped towards the base of the AFS20 Top 10.

Had he kept up his early-season form, Aubameyang would be looking at the Top 5, as it stands, he has fallen behind someone like Emenike, Africa’s other pre-eminent young striker.

AEarly on, the Gabonese forward demonstrated his versatility, as well as he speed of feet and of mind.

Crucially, he also scored goals, 16 in his first five months in Germany. After the middle of February, however, his tangible contribution reduced dramatically.

A goal against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup bodes well, while the departure of Robert Lewandowski should allow the former Saint-Etienne man to enjoy more influence in the attacking third.
